Mechanism of Action-

Chlorpheniramine acts by blocking the action of histamine, which is a natural substance produced by the during an allergic reaction.

Phenylephrine act by activation of adrenoceptors in the arterioles of the nasal mucosa, this causes vasoconstriction which leads to decrease edema & increased drunage of sinus cavities.

Indication

CPM & Phenylephrine used to treat common cold symptoms like nose, congestion watery eye & sneezing.

Oral-

Under 6yrs- 2.5-5 ml 3 times daily

Above 6yrs -5 -10 ml 3 times daily
